Colorado is one of several states piloting a new insurance plan from UnitedHealthcare. Vital Measures combines a high-deductible medical plan with a supplemental plan that provides immediate cost savings to employees and employers — if employees meet healthy lifestyle criteria.
Employers can have savings up to 20 percent; employees are rewarded with credits that can be applied to deductibles, if each of four health benchmarks are met or exceeded.
