The Springs' first Costco Wholesale Club is poised to open at 8 a.m., Feb. 20 southeast of Powers Boulevard and Barnes Road on the city's east side. In coupon mailers going out to Costco faithful, the company exclaims, "we're opening in Colorado Springs East!" Well, while Pueblo West is a real community of about 10,000 households west of Pueblo, Colorado Springs East exists only in the geographically challenged mind of somebody putting together a coupon book for Costco.
